Chocolate Crackles

Chocolate Crackles are an age old party food favourite. It is always a winner at any party no matter what your age is. We all love making these and sampling them afterwards. The beauty about crackles is that they can be made earlier and refrigerated. This gives more time on the day for other important things like celebrating!

Ingredients

4 cups of rice bubbles
1 ½ cups of icing sugar
1 cup of desiccated coconut
3 tablespoons of cocoa
250g of copha

Method

Concentrate hard! Don't spill it!

  1. Mix the rice bubbles, icing sugar, coconut and cocoa together in a large bowl.

  2. Slowly melt the copha in a saucepan over a low heat.
  3. Allow the copha to cool a little.
  4. Stir in the copha to the rice bubbles mix. Stir well until combined.

Lots of messy fun! They are tasty too!

  5. Spoon mixture into paper patty cases. Refrigerate until firm.

THis is the hardest part for us. Mum makes it look so easy!

OUR TIP: Use a patty cake tray to keep the cases in shape until the crackles are set in the fridge.

We can't wait to eat them!
