Movies in the Park

“Wow Mum, this is the life”

According to Georgina Movies in the Park are a great idea. This was a fabulous outing that we all loved. The mayor started the fun with his yo-yo’s and stories of his misspent childhood. He even showed us his yo-yo trick’s like Walk the Dog and made other adults show us their skills too. It was really cool!

Take a look, can you Rock the Baby?

The evening was a great idea for all ages. Alex joined the fitness session with Casey, doing a big workout before the movie started. All the kids (and some bigger kids) thought that this was brilliant and were really getting into it by the end.

Fitness and fun! Keep up now!

The movie we went to see was Music and Lyrics, a romantic comedy with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. This movie suited both children and adults and added to the fun atmosphere of the night.

The evening did get quite cool and blankets and jackets were definitely must have items. Other items that needed to be taken to this event included picnic rugs and/or chairs. Our favourite part was the hamburgers mum packed for us to eat, the platter of cheese which Georgina devoured and all the chocolate we were allowed. But, for those who got peckish and forgot to pack food, the Ipswich Lions Club was on site from which food could be purchased.

All set!

The Ipswich Hospital Foundation made the children feel special with an activity book being given out to them before the movie started. They also created a friendly community atmosphere for the evening through the added personal touches such as providing the Aeroguard for those who needed it and had forgotten it – like us.

We would like to thank the Ipswich City Council and the Ipswich Hospital Foundation for providing an excellent evening out for the family for a relatively low price. We are certainly looking forward to the next season of Movies in the Park!

This is the life, mum!
