Our Mayor

Our Mayor Paul Pisasale is very passionate about Ipswich. Councillor Pisasale has been Mayor of Ipswich since March 2004 and a councillor for the city since March 1991. We see him on television and in the papers boasting about what a wonderful place this is. I first met the Mayor at a presentation evening for the Kids of Ipswich Calendar. He gave me an Ipswich medal.

In 2007, I got to have a photo taken with him at the Workshops Rail Museum after he gave Georgina and I some bubble blowers and balloons.

The most recent time we got to have our photo taken with the mayor was at Queens Park for the Movies in the Park. It was fabulous! He gave all the children (and the young at heart) yo-yo’s and he showed us tricks that he knew from when he was younger.

He is lots of fun to yo-yo with!

Our mayor instils pride in our city and he has introduced a range of merchandise for other proud members of the Ipswich community to enjoy. He dedicates many long hours to being involved in community activities. We love to see him out and about, he is so friendly and approachable. He is a lot of fun to talk to.

The mayor and his councillors are leading the drive for a family friendly community which means working closely with developers, businesses and members of the community. When Sarah met with the mayor this year he told her that two thirds of developed area must be given to council to establish parkland.
