Patty Cakes

Patty Cakes are an all time favourite that can be decorated inexpensively and simply. They can match the theme of the party or be a wild combination of all sorts of designs. These small cakes can be made well in advance and frozen. However, for the best results, the icing and decorating of the cakes should be left until just before the party.

If we start with the basic patty cake mix, we can come up with great designs to go on them later. The patty cake mixture we use is our Mum’s Madeira Cake recipe. Most cook books will have a simple, easy to make recipe that parents and children can follow to create these little wonders.
